Original CX: The Gift
Hannah Overton unpacks Acts 2 and the day of Pentecost with a “crash-helmet” warning: we meet a holy, powerful God. She traces the story from creation and the Fall—where sin breaks relationship with God (vertical) and with one another (horizontal)—through Babel’s scattering and Sinai’s law, which could shape behaviour but not the heart. Pentecost is the promised upgrade: the Spirit is poured out (Joel/Jeremiah fulfilled), writing God’s law within, reversing division, and empowering ordinary people to speak of Jesus across languages and cultures. Peter declares Jesus crucified and risen; the crowd asks, “What shall we do?” His answer: repent, be baptised, receive forgiveness—and the gift of the Holy Spirit. The invitation is for all: be filled, then live it—bringing love, justice, generosity and hope.
