About

The Church Experiment emerged out of the lockdowns of 2020. A small group of people starting meeting online to dream together. We shared a determination to experience life in community as Jesus-followers. We were persuaded this had to be built around an uncommon love for others. The result might not look like any church we had yet seen, but it seemed like an idea worth experimenting with.

We all live around Willingham, Longstanton and Northstowe, to the northwest of Cambridge. We’re not part of an official church network or organisation (although some of us are also part of more established churches.) We’re made up of people at all ages and stages of life.

As a collective, we’re convinced that Jesus leads us to more meaning, freedom, identity, justice and hope than can be found anywhere else. We’re all works in progress and so we want to help each other aim higher. And we’re committed to inviting others to experiment with us.

Our Team

The Church Experiment is organised by a group of friends, mostly in their spare time. We use the abilities we have to work together to build community, and grow in faith.
